The Catholic Mobilizing Network was outgrowing their Wordpress site and needed a CMS that would make it easier to weave together a variety of interrelated content: News, actions, resources, events, statements, and resources that could all be cross-referenced by state and issue. In addition, the maps and states needed a refresh and a tighter integration with their Salsa CRM was desired.
We moved them to Backdrop CMS, a more robust system that allows complex functionality to be integrated in a user-friendly way, making their site more flexible and scalable. Cross-tagging content allows it to automatically flow into different sections of the website, saving a lot of admin time compared to what they were having to do with Wordpress to try to achieve a similar result. Deeper Salsa integration allows them to track where folks are engaging with their actions and content, and we built the mapping functionality in a more interactive way to bring the focus to the states and upcoming executions.
Improvements in their site help them towards their mission: "Ending the Death Penalty. Promoting Restorative Justice."
