The Toronto Asian Art Museum to become a renowned exhibit for showcasing the diversity of Asian culture through an expansive collection of Asian artifacts and a platform for education.
The Toronto Asian Art Museum is a registered charity and a member of the Canadian Museums Association. The Toronto Asian Art Museum educates the community in learning about the diversity of Asian civilization with exhibitions of Asian art, and culture. Inspired by this diversity, the TAAM has become an educational center for community groups and schools. TAAM allows individuals to witness and experience traditional Asian culture firsthand, by enhancing their knowledge to inherit and promote traditional Asian culture.
Founded in 2019 by an ancient Chinese art collector Xiaoshantang, the Toronto Asian Art Museum is an established Canadian registered charity. TAAM’s purpose is to engage domestic and foreign art scholars to exchange knowledge and academic attainments about ancient Asian archaeological research.
Toronto Asian Art Museum is an expanding educational museum that continues to collect historical Asian relics while collaborating with renowned educational partners.
Toronto Asian Art Museum’s art collection comprises of ancient jade, bronze, Buddha statues, porcelain, calligraphy, and silk fabrics. By consulting historical documents and archaeological research records, Toronto Asian Art Museum developed descriptions of specific objects, defining the process and age by which the objects were formed. This process, accompanied by photos, enables viewers to understand and learn about the social environment and the level of social vitality at that time.
Toronto Asian Art Museum interacts with many universities. In partnership with the University of Toronto (U of T), Toronto Asian Art Museum has provided U of T with relevant and valuable learning materials based on the collection of ancient jade, bronze, lacquer, Buddha statues, and porcelain. In addition, Toronto Asian Art Museum also collaborates with U of T professors to develop professional academic courses focused on Asian art, culture, and language.
In partnership with the Oriental Cultural Center, Toronto Asian Art Museum is hosted an exhibition at the Dajue Cultural Center. All are welcome to visit and experience the historical Asian art.
