Courageous Conversations

Courageous Conversations Session A: Nonprofit Leaders

Smart organizations know that braver leaders and more courageous cultures will be essential in creating opportunities in a post COVID-19 world. Learn the skills necessary to develop more adaptable and resilient teams and organizations at Courageous Conversations for the Path Forward led by Karen deLacy, Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator. Using Brené Brown’s empirical research on the observable, measurable, teachable skills that create courage, this workshop will help you understand and define your own path to brave leadership. The workshop focuses on the importance of hard conversations in the courage-building process and how to engage in these conversations at critical moments — the absence of hard conversations is the number one indicator of a lack of courageous leadership.

Courageous Conversations for the Path Forward is a live, on-line interactive workshop of three 90-minute sessions.

Courageous Conversations Session B: Faith-Based Leaders

From the COVID-19 pandemic to the pandemic of racism, we are shaping a new course for tomorrow and the generations to follow. We are discovering new parts of ourselves, new ways of forming communities of solidarity and hope, and questions that can feel overwhelming.

How can we be brave and afraid at the same moment? Anxiety, anger, stress, courage, grief, vulnerability, and gratitude make-up the emotional vocabulary of our daily experiences. Some of us struggle to find words for a changing reality and we want to find ways to have courageous conversations in the midst of physical distancing and social solidarity. We want to help create a world of hope while we equally create space for talking about the polarities we experience. Applying Brené Brown’s empirical research on vulnerability and courage to today’s realities, this workshop helps participants make personal sense of their changing experience. Led by Karen deLacy, Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, the live workshop develops key skill sets surrounding courage and provides usable tools to embrace today’s challenges.
