Yet it is also a place of encounter — where language\, culture\, and community blend. \nThe Border Witness Program serves as a bridge\, connecting the lived reality of communities in the Rio Grande Valley with those who wish to understand it more deeply. \nParticipants experience: \n\nGuided educational tours highlighting issues of free trade\, political asylum\, health\, and the environment.\nVisits to refugee shelters\, detention centers\, colonias\, and community organizations.\nDirect encounters with people whose stories reveal both the struggles and resilience of life on the frontera.\n\n$500/person Participation Fee includes ground transportation\, meals\, and accommodations.
