Each workshop is limited to 30 participants.

Through the partnership between Guest House and the Stuart Center, and through the
generosity of their donors, there is no cost for participants. Participants are responsible for their own travel and the cost of their housing and transportation.

Limited residential space is available at Stuart Center at a discounted rate. Please see

About the Training

Understanding, Recognizing and Acting: Tools for Responding to Addictions in Religious Life and Clergy

This workshop is designed to:

  • promote the understanding of the nature of addiction and compulsive behavior
  • focus on the unique issues of addiction in the lives of Catholic clergy and religious(both women and men), from intervention to re-integration
  • provide evidence-based data on the addictive and recovery process
  • offer a confidential forum for leadership to discuss concerns related to wellness and recovery for community members, parishes and ministry settings
  • give confidential assistance in preparing policies related to wellness and recovery

HOW

Interactive Workshop provides:

  • Presentations by experts in the field and those with experience working with clergy and religious
  • Case Studies with real-world examples
  • Small Group Discussion
  • Opportunity for confidential questions/answers
