An Alternative Break
Stuart Center for Mission was pleased to have The Human Rights Alternative Break Group from the University of Connecticut return to the Conference Center. Fourteen participants and two staff members were with us March 16–22, 2025. In addition to their planned activities, students had the opportunity to witness a “Read-In” protest at the Department of Education.

Gather. Discern. Create.
The Stuart Center for Mission was honored to host two RSCJ weekends focused on shaping the new ANAM Province. Forty-six RSCJ members, from nearby and as far as Rome and Canada, gathered from Thursday to Monday. For some, it was a reunion; for others, a first-time experience.
Each weekend began and ended with prayer, with shared liturgy and dinner on Saturday. During the second weekend, the Extended RSCJ Washington Community joined for fellowship. Conversations continued into the evening with lively discussions and games. The weekend concluded with a box lunch, either enjoyed on-site or taken to-go.
The Stuart Center provided a welcoming space for reflection, guided by the spirit of Janet Stuart. Its location in Washington, D.C., reinforced the calls from the 2016 and 2024 Chapters. The energy and commitment of the RSCJ community remain embedded in the Center as it looks forward to future gatherings.
