Sacred Heart Transformative Learning Program

The Sacred Heart Transformative Learning program is a bilingual (English–Spanish), virtual formation initiative that brings together people from diverse cultural backgrounds to engage in meaningful, reflective, and practical learning experiences. Rooted in the spirituality of the Sacred Heart, the program seeks to create spaces where participants can connect deeply with themselves, others, and the world, fostering personal and collective transformation.

Vision and Approach

We consider education as a process of humanization, inspired by the Gospel and the educational intuitions of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat. Education is an intentional practice of generating learning through experience, stimulation, and mutual discovery. This process of searching for truth is intrinsically relational, dynamic, dialogical, and reciprocal. As Sophie’s Gift reminds us:

Education leads to freedom because it is a process of integral formation that responds to the urgency of meaning and encourages people to seek justice and peace.

Guided by this vision, the program emphasizes interaction, reflection, and the integration of intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. It encourages participants to question assumptions, embrace diverse perspectives, and strengthen their capacity to act as agents of positive change in their communities.

Courses Offered

The program offers seven courses designed to respond to today’s realities and to inspire transformative action:

Platform and Participation

Hosted on a dedicated Learning Management System (LMS), the program includes interactive activities, personal reflections, group dialogues, and practical projects. In addition to the LMS, the course itineraries are offered twice a year over an 8-week period, combining asynchronous learning with synchronous Zoom meetings to foster real-time connection, dialogue, and collaboration.

The program is open to individuals, young adults, groups, and organizations seeking formation aligned with the mission and values of the Sacred Heart.

Impact

Since its inception in 2021, the program has brought together facilitators and learners from across the Americas. It has become a space where knowledge, life experiences, and cultural perspectives intersect—strengthening bonds within the Sacred Heart family and beyond. Participants leave with renewed purpose, practical tools, and a deeper commitment to justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
