Working for justice means being informed and educated on the most pressing issues of our day. The JPIC office collates and shares articles, prayers, video titles, book titles, etc. with this end in mind, particularly in relation to our priority areas of immigration, human trafficking, anti-racism, poverty, peace/non-violence and youth.
Marches in Washington DC offer concerned citizens an opportunity to raise their voices. During these times the JPIC Office organizes gatherings at the Stuart Center where participants receive training in peaceful demonstration; learn how to maximize social media around these events; and participate in prayer services. Social action also takes the form of position statements on behalf of the Society of the Sacred Heart-United States Province as well as the Stuart Center.
The JPIC Office sponsors a speakers’ series which includes expert presenters and panel discussions on a variety of topics. These events are advertised through our email listserve. Let us know if you would like to be added to our mailing list to receive information about events at the Stuart Center.
