As part of our firm commitment to justice and environmental sustainability locally, domestically and abroad, we are happy to announce that after a multi-year process, the Stuart Center has gone solar! By taking this concrete action, we reduce our carbon footprint and expect to produce approximately 92% of what we consume in kilowatts.
In keeping with our commitment to partner with socially responsible organizations and corporations, we are also proud to partner with Blue Source Renewables in this green initiative. Blue Source has a long history of socially responsible actions and partnerships in favor of the environment. It works with companies, governments and NGOs to reduce and mitigate environmental impacts, and develops projects that create land, water and climate benefits. Blue Source was also one of the companies applying for the Laudato Si Challenge inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical.
We'd also be remiss if we didn't mention our partners, Catholic Climate Covenant and their Catholic Energies program, which does similar work specifically for Catholic organizations. Their program was officially launched after our process was already underway or we would have loved to have worked with them, too!
